The Abandonment of Hope

In the land of the brave, the home of the free, A tale of despair, as far as I can see. "The Abandonment of Hope," the story unfolds, Of economic struggles, as our tale foretells.

In the USA, where dreams once took flight, Now shadows loom darkly, blocking the light. A promise was made, a hope did ascend, But as time wore on, it began to descend.

Barack Obama, a name once revered, Promised a future where all could be steered, Towards prosperity, a better tomorrow, But the common folk found only sorrow.

The economy faltered, jobs slipped away, As bills piled high, they struggled each day. The bailout of banks, the Wall Street elite, Left Main Street abandoned, facing defeat.

Hope turned to disappointment, trust slowly died, As they watched the wealthy, side by side, With the leaders they'd trusted, betraying their creed, Leaving the common folk in dire need.

The gap grew wider, the rich and the poor, While promises faded, like dreams of yore. The Abandonment of Hope, a bitter lament, As the common folk wondered where it all went.

In the land of opportunity, a dream once so bright, Now shrouded in darkness, a never-ending night. The hope may have waned, but we still must strive, To mend what is broken and make hope revive.

For in unity's strength, in the people's voice, Lies the power to change, to make a choice. To bridge the divide, to rebuild what we can, And rekindle the hope of the American.

Though the tale is bleak, let's not be confined, To the Abandonment of Hope, left behind. Together we'll rise, in unity's embrace, And rewrite the ending, with hope we'll replace.
