They were laid out plainly tonight, one after the other, by the fearless warrior himself. Is a popular PNM and anti–Penny Beckles activist being quietly paid by the UNC? Is Jennifer Fredricks — the woman the network calls "Jen Jen" — on somebody's payroll? Is she a psyop? And is the whole BounxUp platform one long divide-and-conquer operation designed to keep the PNM grassroots fighting each other instead of the people robbing them? Wild claims, every one of them. But he asked. And the country deserves to hear the questions in the open, not buried under a wall of angry replies.

Let us be clear about what this article is and is not. We are not telling you these claims are true. We have seen no bank statement, no contract, no smoking-gun transfer from Rienzi Complex into anybody's account. What we have is a serious accusation, made publicly, by a known face in the movement — and a network that answered it with temper instead of transparency. That gap, between the question and the non-answer, is the whole story.

Who Is Jennifer Fredricks?

Before the accusations, there is a real person with a real record. "Jen Jen" is no overnight invention. She ran in the 2020 Public Services Association elections on the United Public Officers slate, campaigning for the post of Industrial Relations Officer under the banner "Ready to Lead." In other words, she cut her teeth in trade-union politics — the very arena where a socialist has to pay attention — before she became a loud PNM and anti–Penny Beckles voice online. That history cuts both ways: it makes the "manufactured psyop" charge harder to swallow, and it makes the question of who funds her platform now more worth answering, not less.

And here she is at a recent PNM meeting. The warrior — who filmed the clip — captions it with the very tension the whole affair turns on: an activist known for going at Pennelope Beckles, turning up at a party meeting tied to supporting her. Watch it and judge for yourself.

What Was Actually Alleged

Strip out the heat and here is the substance of what the warrior put on the table. Follow the chain of questions as they were asked — plus the one that turns the lens back on the man asking them:

Notice what ties the first four together: not scandal for its own sake, but the claim that an opposition hand is reaching into a rival's house to set the furniture on fire. If that were true, it would be one of the dirtiest plays in local politics. If it is false, then a hard-working activist is being smeared with a very ugly brush. Either way, "Jen Jen" is the only person who can put the first question to rest — and she should.

Divide and Conquer Is Not a Conspiracy — It's a Method

Here is where a socialist has to be honest with you, even when it complicates the story. You do not need a secret UNC cheque to explain division inside the PNM. Divide-and-conquer is the oldest tool the ruling class owns, and it does not always come with a paymaster. Both establishment parties benefit when working people are split into warring tribes — PNM vs UNC, faction vs faction, "Jen Jen people" vs "Penny people" — because a base at war with itself never turns around to ask why the light bill, the food card, and the crime never improve no matter who wins.

So yes: internal PNM warfare absolutely serves the UNC's interests. That much is just political physics. But "it serves their interest" is not the same as "they paid for it." The leap from benefit to bribe is exactly the leap that needs evidence — and that is the evidence the warrior is demanding, and that BounxUp declined to address.

The Angry Reply Is the Tell

When straightforward questions were put to the BounxUp network, the answer that came back was heat, not receipts. Below is a slice of the actual exchange. The warrior — posting as "The Honorable Slimy" — asks the plain question: are yall getting paid by the UNC? and is this whole thing a psyop? He even says the quiet part out loud: "I'm asking you questions and you defensive. How am I to report that?" The reply that comes back, from a network account, is not a denial. It is a torrent of abuse.

Read it and notice what is missing. Not once does the account say the obvious thing an innocent person says: "No. Nobody pays us. Here is how we fund ourselves." Instead it is "I don't care what you think," "your whole reputation got tarnished tonite," and a wall of cursing. And this is not some random member popping off. The account, "Pt Cumana Sharon," is the head of the BounxUp network itself — aligned, we are told, with the pro–Stuart Young camp inside the PNM. So when the platform's own leader is asked point-blank who funds the operation and responds with abuse instead of an answer, that is not a side comment. That is the platform speaking.

And notice the faultline it exposes. The warrior frames Jen Jen as anti–Penny Beckles; the network's head is pro–Stuart Young. Strip away the personalities and what you are looking at is one wing of the PNM using an online platform to knife another wing of the same party — Young's people against Beckles', Beckles' people against Young's — while the base picks sides and cheers. Whether or not a single UNC dollar is involved, that is the divide-and-conquer at work, and it is happening in broad daylight.

An innocent operation with nothing to hide has the easiest job in the world: laugh, say "no, here is how we fund ourselves," and move on. Anger is not proof of guilt — plenty of honest people get insulted and lash out — but it is a strange choice when a simple, calm denial would settle the matter in a sentence.

Are the People of Trinidad Being Taken for Another Ride?

That is the real question underneath all four of the warrior's. Every election cycle the same audience — you, the ordinary Trini — gets played like an instrument. Paid trolls, ghost pages, "grassroots" movements that turn out to have a funder, personalities who appear from nowhere with suspiciously professional reach. It happens on both sides. Pretending it never happens is how you get taken for a fool. Pointing at one woman without proof is how you become the tool of whoever wants her gone. The discipline is to hold both truths at once and refuse to be used by either.

We have watched this movie before — a private conversation weaponised, a narrative manufactured, a citizen turned into a target because it was politically convenient. It is the same instinct we called out when a leaked recording was pushed out to smear one woman and it backfired. The tools change. The game — set the people against each other so they never look up — stays exactly the same.

He Says the Receipts Are Coming

Since he first put the questions on the table, the fearless warrior has gone a step further: he says he is bringing receipts. Not just suspicion, not just a hunch — evidence, he says, to back the claim that money and direction are flowing where he alleges they are. Good. That is precisely what a serious accusation requires, and precisely what has been missing so far.

So the ball is now in his court as much as anyone's. If the receipts exist — a transfer, a message, a paper trail — publish them and let the country judge. If they never arrive, then this was noise, and the same base that was asked to be outraged is owed an apology. The burden of proof sits with the person making the accusation. That is not a PNM rule or a UNC rule. It is the rule that protects you from being lied to by whichever side is talking.

If This Is True, It Is Treachery of the Highest Order

Let us not soften what would be at stake if the receipts land. Jen Jen presents herself as a supporter of the PNM. So sit with the shape of the accusation: that a woman flying the party's own colours is secretly on a UNC operative's payroll — paid to smear Pennelope Beckles and prop up Stuart Young, paid to turn the party against itself from the inside. If that is true, there is no clean word for it but treachery. Not a difference of opinion. Not rough-and-tumble party politics. A paid betrayal of the very people who trusted her as one of their own.

"Being a PNM supporter but being paid by the UNC to rip the PNM up from the inside — that is a level of treachery I haven't seen yet. Yall keep surprising me."

We keep saying "if" for a reason, and we will keep saying it until the proof is on the table — because that word is the only thing standing between honest scrutiny and a lynch mob. But make no mistake about how serious this is. This is not a petty online quarrel. If a PNM supporter has been bought by the UNC to fracture the PNM, that is one of the ugliest things that can happen in a democracy: the people's own champions turned into weapons against the people. Which is exactly why the receipts cannot come fast enough, and exactly why Jen Jen's silence cannot last.

The Warrior Took a Risk — And a Reporter's Name Is on the Line

Give the man his due: the fearless warrior took a real risk standing up and saying this out loud. Naming a person, naming a platform, and asking who pays them is not a free move. If he is wrong — if there is no money, no handler, no UNC hand behind any of it — then he has said something genuinely damaging about a working reporter, and he owns that. An accusation like this cuts to the bone of what a reporter is. Credibility is the only thing in the trade that cannot be bought back once it's gone.

That is the whole reason this matters beyond one online spat. The moment a "reporter" or a "movement" is on a politician's payroll, every word they publish is advertising dressed as journalism. You stop hearing the truth and start hearing the sponsor. It is the same rot whether the cheque comes from the UNC, the PNM, a financier, or a foreign embassy — a bought voice is a bought voice, and the working people reading it are the ones being played. That is exactly why the funding question is not gossip. It is the whole ballgame.

Jen Jen Should Answer. So Should BounxUp.

This does not have to stay a food fight. There is a clean way out, and it belongs to the people being accused. Jennifer Fredricks can state, plainly, whether she has ever received money or direction from the UNC or anyone connected to it. BounxUp can publish how the platform is funded — who pays for it, who runs it, who, if anyone, sits behind it. Not because a mob demands it, but because a movement that asks the country to trust it owes the country that much daylight.

Until those answers come, the honest verdict is the uncomfortable one: unproven, and unanswered. The warrior asked the right questions in the wrong tone, perhaps — but he asked them, and the silence dressed up as outrage is louder than any accusation. If the claims are lies, Jen Jen can end them tonight with the truth. If they are not, the people have a right to know who is paying to keep them fighting. Either way, Trinidad is nobody's fool — and the ones counting on us to stay divided are the only ones who benefit from us never getting an answer.
