Sitting there, I could only account for it two ways, and neither is flattering. Either they are political operatives themselves — party people, with something to gain from the machine, doing the work of the machine on foreign soil — or they are profoundly ignorant of what is actually happening in Trinidad right now. There is no third category that explains a room that chants for a leader and never once asks her a hard question. You are either in on it, or you have not been paying attention.
